19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult year, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

His unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in specific - caused him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately separating with long-time mentor his previous coach.

Currently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Moutet.

This marks the player's first title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface after March of 2023.

The win also signifies he has achieved twenty-one titles at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to get a title is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and recurring emotional displays on court had caused commentators to wonder if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

But the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning 4 of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a decider.

The opponent rescued four early chances in a close third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.

Fittingly, he secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to control a volley after a lengthy match.
